who we are

We are a family owned veterinary hospital located in Bayport, NY.
Our hospital is a general practice which specializes in routine surgery and wellness visits as well as behavior consultations, laser therapy and even laser based surgical procedures! We are a family owned business that has been a part of the Bayport community for over 20 years. When you come into the hospital it is entirely possible to see not only Dr. Dougherty, but also his wife and daughter working in the practice, both of whom are licensed veterinary technicians! We place our emphasis on education and making sure our clients are confident in their decisons and feel they are doing what is best for their pets!

Many members of our team are certified in fear free techniques and more are getting certified every day! Fear free is a program that aims to take the fear out of vet visits, this is to help your pet have a positive experience at the vet and ultimately improve their well being.
human-animal bond certified
Many of our staff are Human-animal bond certified! This means they have been trained in the science of the human-animal bond and the best ways that it can be improved including how to avoid things that could damage it.
Certified Veterinary Chiropractitioners
This means that some members of our staff have been certified in Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation. This is the act of aligning the spine without the need for surgery.
